Maintaining the Interest Level
Spreadsheets and gap-based workbooks bring each topic alive and is a key factor in maintaining interest and focus. Small groups (up to 4 people) enables each person to get individual attention if any occasional blind spots arise.

Overcoming the fear factor
My research and personal experience indicates that the fear of ‘numeric incompetence’ is the biggest barrier preventing most people even getting started in this subject area (either perceived or real). It’s amazing how quickly attitudes can change!
It ain’t rocket science
The good news is that for developing a lot of the basic concepts, users only need to be able to add and subtract numbers. This is well within most people’s grasp.
The use of spreadsheets and the Internet helps further remove these initial barriers and ‘frees up’ more time to be devoted to the ‘what if’ situations – the fun part of the programme!
Users tend to more enthusiastic to start learn new material/concepts, if they feel confident in the knowledge that, once started, if any stumbling blocks should arrive later on, that there will be sufficient support available to ensure they are able to successfully drive forward their original ideas.
For individuals with a special learning need or initial help with spreadsheets – one-to-one sessions could be offered before any coaching/training is undertaken.
If you have reviewed the concept of the Taster Day programme provided Ilkley, but it’s impractical within your company due to budget time factors, give me a call we can discuss how we can arrange a similar style programme ‘on-site’.
